with my partner and I will be doing that in my new name. He already has a mortgage and a good credit rating. Do all mortgage providers write to employers to confirm income? If they do my employer will write back saying that they have no record of me as I am not known by that name within that company. I work for a large company so there would be obvious problems in informing them of the situation. Are there any financial Advisors out there who know any loopholes. Any answers would be appreciated

Of course they contact the Company to check income (especially after all the bad publicity about people getting Mortgages for £1m whilst earning £20k).

'Loopholes' would be committing fraud = you coud loose the house when they find out.

You need to decide which name you are going to use - if it's the new name, inform your Employer now (so it's all in place when the checks are done).

I was known by a different name to the one my parents gave me (and the one on my birth certificate). Human resources kept a record of my original name and had not problem answering my mortgage company's request for references. I did phone human resources first to cover this point though. The mortgage was important to me.

BTW- have you a pension with your company? Do you have to make a note of your new name with the pension provider?

legally in this country you can call yourself anything you want to so long as it isnt to commit fraud, however, unless you have done a name change thing with a soliciter your LEGAL name is still your old one and that is the name you will have to use on the mortgage.

and if you did change it then you would have had to have told your company's wage deptartment and the tax office so there should be no problem when the mortgage company contact them as they will know you by your new name.

statutory declaration of name change can be done in front of a JP for free at your local magistrates court.

Its not a problem, Just tell the lender your never changed your name at work. The marrage certificate proves both your identites are legitimate. Along with passports and driving licences and any bills you have. You will just need to provide a few extra pieces of I.D. Had this with my wife. No problem realy

they will want pay-stubs as proof. and tax returns. show them that, and proof of your legal name change. you should be o.k, if you show proof you legally changed your name, they know to get records under your old name.
