All funny facts HAVE to start and end with him offering a Drug Officer position to Elvis, five years before Elvis died on the toilet of a drug overdose. That photograph of Elvis, with that bigass belt buckle, shaking Nixon's hand has to be one of the greatest ironic photographs in history.

He was arriving at an airport and the little girl giving him flowers said "How is Smokey?"
He stared at her, and she repeated, "How is Smokey?"
Nixon turned to an aide who whispered, "Smokey the Bear, Washington Zoo."
Nixon turned back to the girl and said "Glad to meet you, Miss Bear!"

The funniest thing about tricky Dicky was the photograph of him glad handing some guy whilst he was surreptitiously looking at his watch over the person's shoulder. It was a fine example of how totally insincere he was.
