My daughter. She was what completed my life. Of course, my (ex) significant other is no longer with us, but he left me the best gift anyone has ever given me.

Aside from our children. It was a book by my 2nd favourite author. We had been fighting, he turned up at the door and gave me the book. I already had the book but what was so speacial about it was the fact that he had been listening to me when I was prattling on about my books.
He doesnt read ever, except the newspaper. So when I would talk about my books and authors and the characters etc i knew he was bored and wasnt really paying attention. So for him to remember the author ( new author that I had just started reading) and the series it was amazing to me.

I would say my children, but I had a little to do with that. If we're talking strictly ' gift ' I would say my early 1960 era jukebox. It still works perfectly!

For our first year anniversary, my wife gave me a beautiful registered Zippo lighter, with a glass smooth silver case, and etched into it my favorite animal (a wolf's head). She had it specially engraved for me, so there's not another like it anywhere.
