Yes, they were friends.

Per Wikipedia: "Throughout the four years of his fame, Hendrix often appeared in impromptu jams with various musicians. A recording exists of Hendrix playing in March 1968 at Steve Paul's Scene Club, with blues guitarist Johnny Winter followed by Electric Flag drummer Buddy Miles, in which Jim Morrison grabbed an open microphone and contributed a growling, obscenity-laced vocal accompaniment. The band continued to play behind him, and Hendrix can be heard on the tape announcing Morrison's presence and offering him a better microphone. The recording, circulated among Hendrix and Doors collectors, is titled Morrison's Lament. Albums of the recording were sold under various titles (originally Sky High, then Woke Up this Morning), some falsely claiming the presence of Johnny Winter's band."

Yes Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix met. They had two runins with each other. Once when Jimi had just finished playing Jim gtabbed the microphone and yelled obscenities and racial slurs. Even at his wildest he never outdid Jim when it came to drinking.

Sure. They jammed together with Johnny Winter at Winter's manager Steve Paul's club "The Scene" in NYC circa '68-69. As a 13 year old in Australia I had to have the tape....terrible quality..but interesting to me ..apparently Mr. Mojo Rising was absolutely hammered .. with Jimi and Johnny doing their thing.."Tomorrow Never Knows" did not gain any more stature with Jim's pissed caterwauling..too late in the night for mine..but you can download the stuff you want to keep now..Tip for young players..you should try to sing when vertical..not horizontal.

They jammed at a club in NYC in like '68 or '69. There's bootlegs of it and there are downloads from the bootlegs all over you tube. Just do a search and you'll find dozens.
