so you are saying, that if you just think about it, it is already cheating?

Cheating at Monopoly is ok. I always steal a few extra dollars and a hotel.

Seriously, I believe that emotional cheating is worse. Falling in love with "the other" person is a risk and can cause pain and hardship for many. A safe love-less hump is just that. IMHO

ok... what these kids are talking about as far as emotional cheating is really more along the lines of mental cheating... I think if you give your heart away to someone else while you're still with someone, that is emotional cheating. And I think that is far worse. But I'm not belittling physical cheating... both are bad. Personally, I'd rather have someone physically cheat on me, because then I could whip him into shape. Or suggest a more intriguing outlet and bring home a third guy to mess around with. That way everyone is included and no one is hurt.

If you reached the point of emotional cheating, then the physical aspect of it is probably not far behind. Perhaps you mean to ask "which is worse: physical cheating with emotional ties OR physical cheating without emotional ties?" If that's the comparison, than the cheating done with the emotional attachment is much worse that the cheating without the emotional attachment.

Emotional abuse, since it's harder to break an emotional connection than a physical one. Physical cheating can be a one-time thing that doesn't happen again. But emotional cheating takes time to build up, and is therefore more damaging to a relationship than physical cheating.

Both are equally awful but physical cheating is the worst. It's one thing to THINK of cheating, and it's another to actually go through with the act. Physical cheating is definitely worse.

No difference. Although the actual act could be devastating to the relationship which many can never recover from, the mere thought could be just as damaging. Don't get me wrong, I fantasize what life would be like with Leonardo DiCaprio--I get that. But when you start imagining your life with Suzie, your secretary or the check out girl at the market, or anyone that is immediately available to you, then you must ask yourself if the relationship is right for you. Either way you have doubt and there is no room for doubt in any relationship. At least that is my opinion.

For me it has always been emotional cheating. Sure its horrible to find out your partner slept with someone else, but its far worse to find out that your partner shared emotions on a profoundly deep level with some else.

yeah all cheating is bad, but to actually answer the question i would think physical cheating is worse, one can control their actions far more than they can control how they feel, hating someone is different than actually hurting someone, loving someone is different than having sex with them, if my girl friend goes and cheats and has "meaningless" sex with someone else i think it would hurt more than if she "accidentally" fell for another guy but did not act on on it, she has more control over sex than love.. the other side is of this is easy to see too, it hurts more to loose someone to love than to sex, but the sex thing is a massive ego bruise as well.. so yeah physical is worse

physical cheating is much worse! our emotions can be hard to control but geez we should have complete control over our bodies and what our body does. Screw it if my partner has strong emotional connections with someone...good on him, as long as he loves me and is in my bed every night, im happy.

Yes absolutlely I am saying that. If you cheat in your head you are a "cheat", period. The act doesnt make you what you are, it's the thought!!!! THINK ABOUT THIS = If you never have sex with ANYONE, but you THINK about and wish to have sex with the same sex as you are, you are a homosexual, whether you have HAD sex or not.
Take a second....THINK.
