Hi,

a vegan (pronounced vee-gan) is a person who not only chooses not to eat meat (as per vegetarians) but also chooses not to use any product of animal origin.

This includes dairy products, eggs etc. and all leather products, fur and even expensive perfume (because of the ambergris-a whale by-product- which is used in the manufacture.

It is a far more demanding lifestyle than the more usual vegetarianism because they always have to check that animal products are not included in anything they eat, wear or use.

Some people think they are all cranks (but then, people think vegetarians are cranks!) but generally they are sincere people who choose their lifestyle because they feel strongly about using products from another living being.

I don't follow the belief and happily use animal products, though I'm not a supporter of the fur trade.

Hope that explains what vegans are for you,

Cheers, have a good life.

pronounced: VEE-Ghan
a Vegan is an individual that avoids eating and wearing any animal products(meat, leather, fur, eggs, milk) either because they just don't like them, or because they care about animal rights and dissaprove of the abuse that the animals go through in the production of animal products.

This is a person who swears off meats, opting for their veggies.

It pronounces like your gonna say veggies, but instead of the gies, you add an an.

Usually, they do this through belief that using cows for meat is animal cruelty or similar.
