I'd hate to see another Republican in office. Can't people just accept him as a black, or African-American or whatever, despite his heritage? He's just a person and he's damn smart and would make a fine president.

You mean "cost him the election," right? I doubt it's a significant enough number of people to make a difference--if it were normal, it wouldn't be news. Many of the black Americans, like everyone else, are simply waiting to see what this man has to offer. I think they'll be impressed, but we've got plenty of time yet to make decisions.

Blacks don't see him as black is a hate message spread by the republicans just like there are people spreading another hate message that he is muslim, radical muslim or terrorist. If Christians can vote solely based on abortion I sure Blacks have the right to vote solely based on color. If he gets through the primary he would be President since there is no Republican that has a percent of class as him. And this hate propoganda would not work, it will just show how low some haters can stoop.

No, because historically the majority of blacks that can vote don't, besides any intelligent human being can figure out that the only thing black vote is for is giving one side a slight advantage over the other. If Obama has any chance of winning he has to secure at least 40% of the white voters, the majority of hispanic voters that hate the republicans because of the new immigration laws(minus the Cubans in Florida they are the republican's pets), and the majority of black voters will vote for him.

If blacks refuse to elect Obama because he's not black (enough), that implies they would elect him if he was blacker. Essentially, what we are talking about is electing someone because they are black, which is just as bad as not electing them because they are black.
Obama needs to be judged on his character and attributes PERIOD. Color should have nothing to do with it.
As a country we are finally getting past the racist era (for the most part), but as always, now we are on the verge of going to far in the other direction, giving special advantages to minorities.
Wouldn't it beso much simplier if we were all just color blind like dogs?

(but then we'd probably find something else tou nfairly judge people on)

Two reasons why I won't vote for him? I don't believe he will do a good job in two years, he is inexperienced and too Young! The other is he is Islamic and no way will I ever vote for an Islamic! Never! Not in this country ever, no more than I would vote for Arnie Swartzeneger he is a foreigner and a Nazi to boot for real! Yes his father was in the SS a real Nazi and with money from the teeth of Jews, Jehovahs witnesses etc., and Arnie was raised in a Nazi school there are pictures of him as a kid with a Nazi uniform! Would you vote for him? And yet he bought his way into California Government as a republican eh? Maybe in 10 years when he gets 10 years experience in Congress and he proves to us that his religion won't make him biased within our country? and that he is not biased with his relationships either black or islamic? It is wrong for all these politicians to do that! We are to be unbiases and take care of people as they come, not because they are white or black or hispanic, arab, etc. and if he is good maybe he will show us in 10 years that he can do the job to set an example for Americans not African Americans or Islamic Americans but Americans period! That is what it is suppose to be and God willing it will be someday a thing of the past this biased crap gone for good! I hope so and good luck! I would personally vote for Colin Powell in a heartbeat! I would love to see him and Hillary Clinton in there he as pres or visa versa! We need a military man and he is the one to do the job for sure! If Bush was on the level with this war Colin Powell would have stayed and you know it!

It's sad ,but when a Black person becomes successful in a White area ,, they don't support him or her,, like some sports or music!! Look at Tiger Woods a GREAT Black athlete , yet at a so called white mans sport so the blacks don't back him like they do 2pac,, and he's dead!! They need to support all and let go of the suppression ,,it's over,, !! I would vote for a purple man if he was the best man -- or woman for the job!!

Diggy - African-Americans today have become so integrated in our political system, that even they will not endorse anyone based on color. This should be a big indicator, to a lot of people who are going about this coming elections, based on race and gender.

While the fact that Barack HUSSEIN Obama is Black is not likely to 'cost him the election', the fact that he has associated with Muslim Terrorists since being raised as a radical Muslim, and is willing to capitulate before the terrorists will ensure that he will never be able to fly the banner of Muhammad above the White House.

I honestly hope, just because a person's black, will not be the reason if he wins the election. It should go what a person has to offer and say, not by the color of his skin.

There will alway be people who disagree with whats right, they want to be opposite of the majority, but it wont affect his campaign and his election because black voters will get off the couch for the first time and vote for him,and so will whites.
