Yea, sort of. In the 30s a Hungarian guy wrote a desperate love song and popped himself - it's a slow jazz, it's called Glomy Sunday. Many of the singers/musicians who did that song ended up offing themselves, too, so the myth built up... and read the rest at Wikipedia:

BTW, in English we say "commit suicide," the word "suicide" is not a verb.

LITERAL ENGLISH TRANSLATION:

It is autumn and the leaves are falling
All love has died on earth
The wind is weeping with sorrowful tears
My heart will never hope for a new spring again
My tears and my sorrows are all in vain
People are heartless, greedy and wicked...

Love has died!

The world has come to its end, hope has ceased to have a meaning
Cities are being wiped out, shrapnel is making music
Meadows are coloured red with human blood
There are dead people on the streets everywhere
I will say another quiet prayer:
People are sinners, Lord, they make mistakes...

The world has ended!

You're going get alot of "OMG! My Chemical Romance is Soooo depressing" type of answers. Any one over 10 years old should really see right through that bands melodramatic nonsense.

I am going to have to agree about the Hungarian song. I remember reading about it somewhere.

In the 80's I remember there was a controversy over supposed subliminal messages in certain heavy metal songs. One song was supposedly embedded with the message "suicide, do it".
