Without a doubt the Calgary Flames. They have a world class goaltender ( Kipprusoff) to start off with. Next the recent addition of Brad Stuart to help bolster an already strong blue line(Phanuef,Hamrlik etc.) is huge. Also, the reuniting of Iginla and Conroy is clutch!!!! Iginla put up his best numbers with Conroy feeding him the puck. Last of All they have G.R.I.T. they are tough from top to bottom.Seriously the guy wearing the C on his jersey can scrap with any of the NHL's best enforcers and win. I don't see the Canucks going anywhere even with Luongo minding the net. The Habs(Canadiens) don't have enough offensive prowess. Edmonton is already looking at selling guys off to other teams for future talent. The Leafs are surging but I don't think they are deep enough. Last but certainly not least is Ottawa, who while impressive on paper I just don't feel is gritty enough plus I have my doubts about their goaltending.

I think you have to eliminate the Habs, Oil and the Leafs already. The Flames have a good lineup and Kipper is nasty when he gets hot. The Sens are really good and they have two goalies that are playoff quality; but the answer is Vancouver. Luongo is nasty all of the time. He is the only goalie in the league where 2-1 is usually safe going to the third. He is the difference.

Ottawa has the best talent so has to be the favorite amongst Canadian teams. But when considering Canadian teams, you have to cheer for a team called the Canucks ... no matter how good or bad they are!

I predicted that the Canucks were going to be the surprise team of the year. I began to doubt that as they were off to a lukewarm start. But I'll stick with them as my answer.
