Because EPL clubs does not have as good players as spanish and italian clubs are having
i mean italian and spanish clubs are having players from brazil and all other countries of world
while EPL clubs are having players from england or other europian countries
and if u see worldwide ranking then also u will see that italy and spain are ahead of england

The Champions League has been won by seven times in England. And I agree that this does not reflect the kind of fantastic football displayed in England. The teams that have won it are,
Manchester United - 2 times (I967/1968 and 1998/1999 seasons).
Liverpool - 5 times (1976/77, 1977/78, 1980/82, 1983/84 and 2004/05 seasons). This is a very impressive record by Liverpool.
Chelsea have never won it.
Arsenal also has never won it, but for the first time in its history have managed to reached the finals - last season when they lost to high class Barcelona FC. I was very much impressed with the GUNNERS!! pHEWWW.......What an achievement that was!!

EPL teams will have their time. But right now, the competition at Champs league level is so high that all teams are capable of winning, most especially the ones from Serie A and La Liga that it would be hard to tell who would really win. It's just a tough call but EPL teams definitely have a high chance of reaching the finals and becoming European champs. Liverpool won it in 2005, and Arsenal just did it last season, they just fell short a bit to win the trophy. At this level, winning is part chance.

Liverpool just won it 2years ago. Arsenal was the finalist last season. Chelsea was a semifinalist for the season2004 and 2005. Man Utd won in 1999 and has frequently been quaterfinalist and better. I wouldnt say English teams are that bad.
1999-Man Utd (eng)
2000-Real Madrid (spa)
2001-Bayern Munchen (ger)
2002-Real Madrid (spa)
2003-AC Milan (ita)
2004-Porto (por)
2005-Liverpool (eng)
2006-Barcalona (spa)
If you look recently, only a spanish country has one the CL more times than an english team. So i wouldnt say english teams are that bad.

Even though the EPL is a great league with good teams like Man.UTD &Chelsea we don't see them wining the UEFA champs league because the don't have high confidence levels like other European Soccer Greats like Barcelona!!

Spanish clubs have won it 11 times, Series A 10 times and English teams 10 times.
You have to think about the history of football, not just the last year.
