Tyra show. Why have the audience make so much noise?

I actually don't see the audience doing the screaming and shouting. Is it a recording? I find it too noisy and always "mute" the TV when the screaming comes on.

I know. It really really annoys me. They clap and cheer with anything Tyra Banks says- what are they, her disciples?
