I think a third eye is like a intuition that tells you when something isn't right. Not everyone has the ability to follow their instinct or listen to it. The advantage is you can stay out of trouble and avoid dangerous situations.

everyone has a third eye but not all are opened. you can't always use it to your advantage because you will never know when they'll show themselves to you. you can't choose to see things, they appear without you accepting it. you can act as a medium when your third eye is opened but thats when you start seeing things out of the ordinary. you can't reverse it.

not every one has a third eye but we all do have a pineal gland that when stimulated help increase memory power. it is located on the crown of your head where your soft spot would be were it still soft.
