challenging individuals cultures and traditions?

Why is it when you challenge peoples cultures and traditions they get offended? If they were comportable with there beliefs they would brush your opinion off, dont you think?

Why do you challenge them in the first place? Maybe they feel insulted in your questioning of their beliefs.
