Its too harsh and unwarranted. Ok, so he hates gay people. Sure he probably shouldve just said he hates the 'things' gay people do that make them gay. But who cares. Just because society is trying to make it more ok to be gay doesnt make it right. I applaud him for being against homosexuality. I think he just shouldve worded it different.
If the NBA is worried about its image than they need to concentrate more on other things. Fights, hoodlums, and a bunch of young people who flaunt off their money and some who dress and act like they are in a gang or something.

To allow gays in such a fashion as it is being accepted now, is like allowing pedophiles to feast on children. Who is to say that isnt around the corner. The more we allow and accept, the more that will be permitted in the future. Being a pickle puffer is wrong. End of story.

Hey, I respect your beliefs. But the NBA doesn't need another problem to handle. The easiest thing to do was to just sweep this issue underneath the rug. It's not like Hardaway is banned for life; they just removed him from All-Star Weekend. I do find it funny that he later retracted his statement - shows how strong his beliefs REALLY were.

Tim Hardaway is ignorant. And he should have kept his mouth shut, he should know better, I think he has a book coming out soon, and may have been a bit jealous of John Amaechi for striking first with his. But it's obvious he is a hateful person and he has a problem. Just like this person who asked this question somebody elses sex life has nothing to do with yours. it's not any of your business, just because some people choose to come out to the public such as athletes or celebs doesn't mean all gay people want to announce what they do behind closed doors of their own home to the world.

Tim hardaway is lucky that some black activists of the past did what they needed to do, to make it ok for black people to go to the same schools , drink from the same fountains, and sit in the same restaurant as white people. It's the same thing, just because can't choose your race, there is science that supports you can't choose your sexuality either. Yet even if you can choose, that is a right of freedom as well, and nobody should be told they can't make a living doing something that they love because a straight person in their profession is afraid of gay people. It's a job, I don't go around where I work and feel afraid of having gay people around me, and just because your in a locker room naked or whatever, I think thats kind of gay to walk around naked in front of a bunch of men to begin with.

I think his one dumb comment may end up sparking a larger debate. if you applaud him for talking out against gays then why don't you applaud the KKK for standing up for what they believe in hatred of black people. It's the same damn thing. People have the right to do what they want with their life.
