No. Norton 2005 is NOT "trustable" at all. It is TWO YEARS out of date!! You should update to something from this year- I'd highly recommend McAfee on top of everything else. You can check out http://www.download.com/Antivirus/3150-2239_4-0.html?tag=dir for free trials and downloads. AVG is a good free one to use. To speed up your computer, you might want to try running checkdisk/disk cleanup/defrag. Fixing/maintaining computers is my specialty! If you need any help doing any of those, go ahead and email me. :) What do you mean by offiscan main? Is that some other antivirus? if so, REMOVE IT IMMEDIATELY! YOU CANNOT HAVE MORE THAN ONE ANTI VIRUS PROGRAM ON ONE COMPUTER! It will cause system lockups, crashes, and unresponsive systems. Not to mention slow ones!

AVG is a free and secure and reliable anti virus program. updates online everyday. better than norton and Mckafee programs. any anti virus program has to be constantly upgraded (its free and automatic if it is a genuine product registered online) at least once a week check all systems for viruses. Try AVG website

Hello,
The first thing to do to speed up pc and get rid of malwares and viruses is cleaning the registry with a program like CCLeaner http://j.mp/1sW1ZUU
Check it out.

I had one that couldn't be quarantined. It wouldn't let me look into my daughter's files, it always denied access even though I'm the administrator. The only thing I could find out was the names of the files and that they were in her Java files. I finally got out my old DOS book so I could brush up on the commands. I started the C:/ prompt and was able to find and delete these files. I believe I used the online Microsoft scan to find the names of the files, but I'm not sure.
