I was a bachelor for 10 years. I dated here and there but I mostly I stayed single. Sometimes it was fantastic and other times difficult and lonely. By the time I reached my late 20s most of my friends were married and having children. A lot of the people I used to hang out with disappeared. Moved on with their lives. I decided I wanted to have a wife someday. I met this wonderful woman who gave me everything I wanted out of a relationship. We got married a few years later. It's not always perfect (what is?) but we're very happy together.

I think happiness is generally unrelated to one's marital status. Some bachelors are loney and bored whilst others enjoy theor freedom. Some married people are stressed and unhappy whilst others enjoy marital bliss. I used to swear that I would never get married but now I've found a wonderful woman and I intend to marry her. I am willing to give up my freedom so that I can be with her.

If pushed to pick one or the other I'd say married people are happier. But this I imagine also differs across countries. I'm in Zimbabwe, based on what I see on TV American married people seem unhappy.

Both!

A lot of married people with families...couples who truly love each other, enjoy being with each other are very happy.

Then on the other hand, bachelors, they are happy also because they have their lives exactly like they want it. No one to answer to, come and go as they please etc.

I suppose it all depends on what you want out of life. If what you want is a family...children, that little white house with the fence...then marrage is for you.

On the other hand, if you dont want family...children and that house, and you want to live in a bachelor pad with a lot of friends, date who you want but not have commitment and responsibility then marrage is not for you.

Either way is fine...its what makes YOU happy.

Happiness is not an accident. It is not a matter of whether you are single or married, but up to the attitude you take toward your life. Then you have the best chance to be happy, married or single.

Neither. Everyone is miserable.

Just kidding...for the most part...

It doesn't make a difference whether you are married, dating or single. Happiness comes from many aspects of life, not just romantic involvements.

it all depends on the thinking of the person, if he's outgoing he may like being single but hes family oriented and future minded he may want to be married
