DON'T WEAR ANKLE WEIGHTS THEY TEAR UP YOUR KNEES!!!!!

Ankle weights pull the liagments in the knee and just in general pull and tear things in the knee, it's bad BAD news!

For starters a week and a half is not significant time to improve. However it is enough time to let your skills diminish slightly if you don't anything for that amount of time.

Here's what you can do.... Shoot 300 jump shots everyday. Try to shoot 100 to warm up standing still in a spot up position, than shoot the next 100 off the dribble on a pull up, the last 100 try and shoot them as if you were coming off of a screen on a curl. Shoot the last 200 with little time in between. Practice dribbling for 30 minutes a day, if you haven't done so already buy a pair of dribbling specs that keep you from looking down, dribble off of your fingertips only. For the next 10 days run 2 miles everyday, maybe take one day off possibly 2 days off if you want to take a day off before tryouts. Do 50 pushups a day and 50 situps, not all at once maybe sets of 15 or 10 or 20 if you can do it, on the situps try for 2 sets of 25. Work on defensive slide drills, sit in the lane and move side to side reaching down and touching each side of the lane. Do wall burners, do calf raises. The most significant improvement you can make in a week and half is on your jumpshot, but you can "tune up" quite a bit so try and devot about 3 hours a day to it, good luck!

If you wanna improve your vertical really focus on calf exercises. Also two improve you need to practice, practice, practice. Work on the basics, dribbling, layups, free throws, because doing all the little things right impress coaches the most. The guy who can dunk on breakaways but cant hit a free throw in a clutch situation isn't what you wanna be.

You can do it by practicing for a long time every day until you're ready. Practice with someone you can hardly ever beat. Learn to anticipate the others move defensively and always be planning your next strategic move, that will not be easily determined by your guard, on the offense. Think of it like you're a live chess board and every score is a mate.

Practice your jump shot a lot! and for the vertical and agility you can run liners and jump in place with ankle weights on or just wear them around all day, they help a lot and you get results pretty fast. Good Luck

The answer is NO. However my recommendation to you. In basketball there are different positions and skill level. You should at least be acceptable on one (e.g., rebound, dribbling, passing, scoring, 3pts). Use that strength and capitalize on it. Fundamentals are acquired during the years, but skills are natural. Take advantage of what you perceive is your strength.

Practice - What else did you expect? Did you want me to personally train you?
