Yes, I see it happening. The Washington Nationals will eventually move to Charlotte. For the third time baseball is failing in the DC area from lack of support. It will happen. the weather is better NC and the sports fans are better.

I don't see that Charlotte cant have the Major League Baseball team because this city is seem too small city as only have basketball team, the Bobcats, but the NHL team Hurricanes in capital city of NC, and also the NFL team is in Charlotte.
MLB has enough teams in National League, and American League. If no one has interest to watch the baseball games in NC, just interest to watch basketball games, football games, and ice hockey games.

No, I don't believe it will happen. The Charlotte metropolitan area is much too small to handle a MLB team. There are other larger metro areas that would be considered before Charlotte, should any team choose to relocate.
MLB is considering contracting, not expanding, so it really doesn't look promising for major league baseball in NC.

Good question, as with most US sports it will come down to appetite from the city and it's fans and of course TV and Sponsorship Revenue.
Charlotte is known for basketball etc and I wonder if there is room for an MLB franchise there.
Baseball does need to take a long hard look at itself, although either smaller venues or limited schedules, you don't see many 2/3 empty basketball/football stadiums.
That's why teams like the A's are relocating to smaller facilities, it's no fun to play in that kind of atmosphere all the time. I agree Baseball does need to lose some of the poorer performers in order for the whole to be better.
Will it happen, unlikely, but you never know.

I would love to see one in Charlotte as there is a great chance I will be moving close to the area in the near future. Charlotte is not only a college town but is an area that loves sports - College Basketball, NFL, Hockey, etc., so adding another sport would be a plus. But let's face it - it would probably involve either moving an already existing franchise (like Tampa, Kansas City, Oakland, Florida or Toronto if the Canadians throw in the other towel) or adding another AL team which would require adding another to balance things, which in itself ain't a-gonna happen now as there is hardly the market for the marginal teams as things stand. But best of luck!

While Charlotte is a great city, the awnser is no. Baseball is just holding its own at the time with its current franchises, and I dont see expansion in the works. The Braves mite see this as an invasion of thier fan base and would probably object. Then they would have to compete with San Antonio, Nashville, Louisville, Indianapolis and Sacremento. They would have to go through the "we want a great stadium" syndrome.Too many factors are against them.

I think that'd be a good idea, like 1st guy said they r known for NCAA Hoops Duke and UNC, and even NCST is solid in hoops, but they are excellent in baseball too though, cause in NCAA Baseball any team down south is good, even a team like Florida A&M r always way better than Michigan and Ohio State in Baseball, and if any team does move to NC I can see it being the Toronto Blue Jays, cause so many Canada teams keep running bankrupt and havin to move like Expos now Nationals, in NHL Winnipeg Jets, now Phoenix Coyotes, Quebec Nordiques now Colorado Avs, and Vancouver Grizzlies r now in Memphis so I can see Jays movin to NC if any team does

well i don't see the MLB adding another team b/c there are already too many teams and the talent is spread out too much. However, the only chance N.C has for getting a team is if teams like the Marlins who want a new stadium don't get one. Then they will look to move, maybe to North Carolina.

Not as an expansion team, only if a current team relocates there. Currently there are too many MLB teams for any expansion. Actually MLB needs to contract 2-4 teams.

Excellent question. North Carolina is really a basketball state with UNC and Duke and even the new NBA Bobcats. Maybe one day a MLB franchise will settle there, but I don't see it happening.
