My mom has been having a problem with her hair....its pretty thin and balding. She's got Rheumatoid Arthritis and Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. She's taking:

Plaquenal

Sulfasalazine

Effexor

Wellbutrin

Amitryptoline

Any of this could be causing her problem? She's 47.

Ensure that you eat nutritious food, with plenty of leafy vegetables. Have a soya milk drink and multivitamin tablets if you do not have time to have a healthy breakfast.Apply the white of a raw egg on the hair for 30 minutes, and then wash it off with a shampoo. A mixture of lemon juice and egg white and oil massage could also be used to strengthen the roots of hair. More remedies at http://hairthinning.org/ will prevent further problems.

She should ask her doctor. How is her nails and engery?I just found out I have a B vitamin defiency. My hair was falling out by the hands full my nails were splitting and cracking. My engery was depleted I didn't feel like doing anything. I seemed always to just feel bad. I also have several meds I take daily which can cause the B vitamin defiency. The test for it is simple. Some doctors over look this and instead treat you for depression because of how we seem to explain how we are feeling. Hope this will help you.Tell your mom Get well soon!

I don't think any of those cause thining hair. She needs to see her doc as some hair thining can be caused by a medical condition that is treatable.
