I have had a problem with someone hacking my emails and calling me at home.
This person hired a private investigator to harrass me at home as well.
Its been almost a year since this crap began. What is the likelihood he'll show up on my door step to cause me trouble?
(yeah I filed and FBI complaint on this).

Yeah he knows where i live, he sent a PI to "deliver a message".
Yeah I have moved, but i am still in the same city and have to be until I pay down some debt.
I disconnected my phone twice.
Getting a new PC has nothing to do with it.
I just need a statistic on how often a online hacker harrasses his target personally in person.

justme is spot on. I guarantee you, this person is someone you've know personally at some point in your life. Hackers/crackers don't usually pull this crap, and stalkers/pedophiles are more likely to follow you themselves than hire someone to do so.
Don't do something stupid like get paranoid and buy a gun. Let the FBI do their job. Also, don't be afraid to get a restraining order against the PI, possibly even a court order to get him to reveal his client's identity, which the police/FBI can then use. Though, the FBI probably already informed you of these options.

The chances of it happening are increased by the effort the hacker has made to contact you. You no longer have just a hacker because your hacker has crossed the lines into stalking you and chances are high that the person you think was really a private investigator might have truly been your stalker in disguise, this is a common game played by stalkers to get close to you. I think the stalker has already showed up at your door and will show up again just when you least expect. just let the FBI handle it they are well trained to deal with people like that.

People are unpredictable. This means that anything could happen. It all depends on what is going on in the head of the stalker

Well, it seems to me that this person has something against you and will probably go full force. The odds are against you but it just seems like this person knows you personally, and in that case, ups the anti's a bit more. NO online stalker would go as far as to hire and pay, with their own money, a private investigator, just to harass you. This is personal and sounds like you should get one heck of a firewall and next time this person tries to get a hold of you online...track them down. That's what I would do.

I'm not sure, but it's good you've notified the FBI. If they haven't done anything, make it a point that you won't leave them alone until they do.
Mmmmm, I'm trying to recall any statistics I have that pertain to stalkers. I know that every 1 out of 9 people in San Francisco have been convicted of a serious crime (from Sarah & No Name, a radio talk show, in case you want my source). Not that that helps you any...It's an interesting fact, though. :)

Get an alarm system just in case, if you need to, keep a gun or a protective weapon in a spot thats easly to grab. Like near the door or in your bed room when you sleep. If it continues, go to the police again. And if they dont do anything, threaten to sue..(thought it migt not work)
If you have kids, keep the gun away from their view or where you hide it. Also get a license for the gun or its illegal. When in doubt, go to neighbors or family, or leave town and go to relitives for a couple week. President Week is coming up..

Geez, that's gone way too far. Sounds quite unsafe. Hacking your emails? Is this how he found out where you live? I would get a new computer if possible. Do you own your home? Could you move out and move in somewhere with a roommate? I'm so sorry.

If I were you, I'd be concerned. This sounds like more than some random hacker. Is he an ex, or something? I'd go to the police again, and tell them you're really scared

well, he sure is going through a lot of trouble to mess with you, so i wouldn't be surprised. Then again if he does show up then probability has magically reached 100%! So you might want to do something.
