I would like to visit North Carolina. What would be the best time of year climate wise to go? We would like to spend some time on the beach, but dont want to go when the temperature is too hot.

My family and I vacationed on the Outerbanks of North Carolina once. We rented a vacation home near the beach for a week. It was one of the best vacations of my life next to Walt Disney World. We went during the end of April during school vacation, I believe. It was absolutely gorgeous during that time of year! The temperatute was very warm. It was hot at times, but not too hot at all. The ocean temperature was perfect. As for the weather, it was great as well. We didn't have a single rain shower during our entire stay. I think we went not too long before the hurricane season was to start, so we just missed it.

Anyway, I'm not sure of other times of year. However, my father and other relatives live down there - you'd think I'd know a bit more. I've only been once, though, myself. But I had the most amazing time! I was nine when we went, so that was over 10 years ago. I still remember it very well, and I really would love to go back some day soon. I can and would definitely recommend vacationing on the beach of North Carolina in April. It was a fantastic experience!

Hope I could help! Have fun!

My husband is from coastal North Carolina, and we lived on the Carolina coast for 5 years. In my opinion, the best time to visit and enjoy it is the end of Spring, beginning of Summer. It's no longer cold, but not too sweltering yet. The worst month is August. Keep an eye on the tropics though, make sure your visit won't be interrupted by a hurricane.
