They do. People with anorexia use them. Instead of throwing up, it goes the other way. From wikipedia: "Laxatives are often abused by people with bulimia nervosa or anorexia nervosa. Laxative abuse is potentially serious since it can lead to intestinal paralysis,[citation needed] Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS),[citation needed] pancreatitis, renal failure,[1][2] and other problems."
"Saline laxatives may alter a patient's fluid and electrolyte balance."
They do work and there are a lot of laxatives, fibers and stuff but these are only temporary. You'd have to take them on a daily basis to have significant weight loss. Plus, the overuse/abuse of them will end up making a negative change to your health in the long run. Try other traditional methods if you can like diet and excerise, plus it not as hard compared to having diarrhea every 2 hrs.

You loose weight, but the effects are more psychological than physical. Most people eat out of boredom, there seams to be something exciting (in a narcissistic kind of way) about enemas that fill the void (Get it - Void). Also, people eat out of a sense of hopelessness and futility, giving yourself an enema is making you feels like your doing something about it. The actual physical effects are small.
This is no small thing; weight loss is 90% psychological (in my small opinion). Just be absolutely sure it is done safely, moderately, and you’re meeting other goals like exercise, diet, and socializing in a healthy manner.

RE:
Do saline enemas help with weight loss?
Since a saline enema is a laxative, does it help with weight loss?

The only way an enema can help you lose weight is if you have a lot of something going on in your colon that's weighing you down. Diet and exercise are the best methods. I lost 50 lbs. about 2 years ago.

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.
1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.
2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.
3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.
These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

Nope. It just gives you the trots. All enemas do is clean the already processed junk from your system. That's like shutting the barn door after the horses are out. Your weight problem is caused by the stuff your body hasn't processed yet.

You're not losing fat with an enema; you're losing waste and water weight. So you won't notice any noticeable difference in weight loss. In fact, you'll probably look heavier, as people who abuse enemas and laxatives are often bloated.

Not only is any weight loss minimal and temporary, the introduction of salt into your system can upset your electrolyte balance and damage your system. Reduced caloric intake while increasing caloric expenditure is the best way.
