As soon as we have 57.6 minute hours! (or 57.6 second minutes!)
The rate of decay in Earth's rotation is quite small. it has been calculated that we started of with an 18 hour spin 3.5 billion years ago. I have also heard of a 16 hour day number, but I am going with 18. That gives us a slowdown of 1 hour every 583.3 million years. Now we are still about 1 minute a day away from a real 24 hours (the whole leap year thing). We wont get to a real 24 hours for another 405.1 thousand years. So 583.7 million years is an educated guess, barring any cataclysmic deviations. If it was 16 hours to start with, then it will happen 145.8 million years sooner.

Never, the Moon is already breaking our rotational speed and since it is moving away, the hold is weakening. So as it moves away the spin becomes faster and the days shorter.

I dont know but I wish they would do it soon maybe even crank it up to 27 and extra 3 hours would be perfect better sleep more time with family and more production give an hour to each

It's hard to say exactly, maybe in a few million years, but it will happen when inertia of the rotary speed of Earth starts to decrease due to friction, gravitational forces, etc. But don't worry, I'm sure you will hardly notice

well, considering that the moon is moving away from the earth about one inch per year ( the earths 26 degree tilt will be out of wack when the moon is far enough away) it will be a loooooong time.

This won't happen in your life time so what does it matter. Someday the Earth will completely stop spinning but who cares?
It will happen due to friction from the moon and our own oceans. A day on Venus is longer than a year on Venus.

It happens once every year.
the day they set the clocks back...
I hear that on NPR Car Talk. It was the puzzler last week.
