I just am curious if anyone knows how I would approach doing something like that. I'm going to get a major in English/journalism and a minor in busness. I've always loved writing, and designing clothes, so I thought a magazine would be a good way to show it off. I don't know. I was just brain storming, but any feedback would be appreciated. <3 Thank you.

Me too. What I want to do with my life? I am 54. Here are some thoughts. Magazine publishing is very expensive. The business is based on selling advertisers to your publication. Look at your favorite magazine. Count how many pages are for advertisements. These advertisers buy to reach as many people as possible. It is based on how many magazines you have sold or delivered. For a good study do research on John Kennedy's magazine "George". Ton's of money, great presence, good press. How come it went out of business?

My advice is to explore doing your passion on the Internet. There are many people who have established e-zines. You can write articles. You can feature pictures of your designs. How to get started? Remember that geek in your class? He or she knows how to do it. Please be gentile. Spell it out exactly.

they used to have this thing called "zines" which were where one person created their own magazine. but it seems to me anything in print is rapidly becoming obsolete...it's fine if you print up a swell magazine but if nobody reads it you won't be able to put out Issue 2. why not focus on a blog...the start-up costs are minimal and it's not that hard to make money if you can get a few people to read your posts. Just ask Perez Hilton.

I would say, go to the nearest community college or call and make an appt. to speak to a Guidance counselor. That seems the best bet to me. Good luck!! Don't give up!!!
