I don't watch the news. Things have been spinning out of control for centuries & we're still here. There's just more media coverage now...

Don't worry. Get outside. Be close to nature. Focus on the beautiful things in the world, forget the ugliness for a while.

Time isn't going any quicker. Life in North America has become more fast-paced. We are an over-worked, over-scheduled, over-stressed obsessive compulsive society. We are obsessed with gadgets that are supposed to make life easier but they make it more complicated. I can't even watch those news stations with ticker tape info running continuously & the screen split up into different sections. It gives me a seizure! What good does it do us to know everything that's going on all the time? What can we do about it? It just stresses us out! I don't watch the news because it's depressing & I deal with enough negativity & ugliness in my job. When I go home the last thing I want is to be reminded how bad the world has gotten. When I come home I want to be surrounded by beauty. My home is my sanctuary from a world gone mad...

Simplify your life. Enjoy yourself. They thought the world was going to end in the 1950's. They thought it would end in 2000. It's still here. Lets just enjoy it!

Get a Seconda watch and a Raleigh bike - both are reliable, and you can keep a good check on time and the cycle!
To be serious, let me try and put this in perspective. When I was a kid, many moons ago, we didn't have television, so news of world events was minimal and out of date. We led a pretty peaceful, carefree time. And very few people had telephones in their homes. Nowadays, I can pick up my mobile and dial someone in a far-away country. So news travels faster, and is far more accurate.
The short answer is; yes, things are happening far faster now; we are more aware of them; and thus we are better informed. But whether or not they are out of control is a personal opinion.
But I think we are coming to the end of a Millenium - like the Ice Age and Iron Age. If man does not self-destruct soon, which he is on course to do, then our grandchildren can look forward to a decent life.

Yes. For a person with a deep insight, it appears so.
It is the characteristic feature of Kali Yuga (age of
darkness) according to ancient texts of India.
Kala means time and darkness.

The esoteric texts of medieval Europe also give
similar description for the age of darkness.

Some Indian astrologers have predicted that the present
cycle will end in about two decades from now and
a period of transition will follow. What appears to be
going out of control now will be reversed.

Stop watching the 24hr news channels for about 3 weeks and see how much better you will feel about life. Also stop reading the newspaper. It is amazing how much happier you get when you are not constantly bombarded by depressing crap.
