I mean, assuming that the mother's health isn't in danger (in which case, you must abort), shouldn't the only point to be considered is whether or not the fetus is considered alive? If it's alive, then you can't kill it, but if it's not alive, then maybe you could. And if you aren't sure if the fetus should be considered alive then it would be morally irresponsible to take the chance that u may be merdering a person.

I just don't understand how birth and pregnancy pains (as bad as they are) override the consideration of someones life. To all of u women out there, I sympathize with the pain u have to go through, but in no way can u condone someone to just not have to go through with the whole pregnancy/birthing process (unless your health or even emotional health is at risk).

I agree. The debate must remain over the soul of the baby. There are plenty of drugs to aid with the pain of childbirth, and why not set the child up for adoption if you are so afraid to raise it or feel incompetent?

Because it's easier and more politically correct for people to focus on the mother rather than face the reality of what abortion actually does to innocent human beings. That's too much of an oversimplification... whether the woman's life is in danger or not, the process of a pregnancy has effects on the body.

This sounds cold but "it's so hard for the mother" isn't to be taken into consideration. If the mother didn't want a baby she shouldn't have been doing those things that result in babies and I don't buy for one minute all these women 30 million of them were because they were on birth control. The only one in this picture that has any importance is that life she is carrying. It's not her baby, it's hers and the man who created it. Anything less is selfishness resulting in death.

I think the pains people refer to are more than phyisial and labor pains. I am against abortion, but think legally women should have a right to choose. The question was about knowing the pains of the mother and to be totally honest, that is one thing I feel is impossible to empathise with unless forced to play those cards.
