Well this depends, do you have Windows XP home? Most likely the Administrator account hasnt been passworded yet. All you have to do is get into safe mode by shutting down the computer and restarting while tapping F8 a couple of times. Then when what looks like a DOS screen pops up, go down to where it says start in Safe Mode and it will give you the logon screen where you will either have to click Administrator, or type in administrator and hit return without a password. From there you go into Control Panel and then into user accounts. Click the user you want to delete passwords and then recreate a new password if you wish.

Call your computer manufacturer. What brand is it I will try to find the number for you. I don't mean XP I mean the name of your computer like Dell, Hewlett Packard, Sony etc. If you can't even get on the computer it won't matter if you have XP or whatever, you will need the manufacturer.
Can you log in on another user or secondary logon?

i'm assuming you're talking about the password the computer asks for at the beginning as it's booting up.
the answer is that you're screwed. although there ways that you can hack it, but this can have unpredictably adverse effects. so it's best if you keep your password written down in a safe place

if you forgot your password, there are softwares (linux based) out there that can reset administrator's password.
i used one called trinity rescue kit. it's not gui based so it can be intimidating. go to their website and it should tell you how to reset admin passwords.

How can you forget it? You should always keep a reference of it, in a secret place. Otherwise, you're doomed.
