I'm a waiter and bartender and want to know why people(especially certain races) feel the need to under tip or not tip at all? I'm speaking for anyone in the service industry because we all know that a table of African Americans with a 80.00 check might leave you $3.00. Not to be left out are spanish, asians, europeans,mexicans,and young adults(18-20 yrs old). WHY???

I work in a Casino for over ten years in this field. My income is very secure. It is a known fact throughtout the service industry. I am not racisist I just want to know why? Ask any of your friends if they worked in a resturant or bar if this is true!!

You are so right on. I think it's because they just don't feel the need. There is no way any American, no matter the race, can say they didn't know. It's COMMON KNOWLEDGE. As for the rest they just suck!!! I'm an exorbitant over tipper, and I hope one day you serve me a beer and I can tip your *** the right way.

When I leave a tip, it is not based on the bill, it is based on how good the service was that I received and when the service is excellent, so is the tip that you will be receiving, if the service was bad don't count on getting anything from me. Except for a glass turned up side-down and a penny underneath it, which stands for poor service!

That may be because of another reason. Many of those hispanic, black, asians,... are new to the country they either have not had proper education or any education. Many of them are were and have been poor for many generations, Many have never eaten in a restaurant, where you sat and ate your food. Young adults are just that young adults; maybe they are just cheap; or the service sucked, that definately makes me MAD; hope that helped.

I think people kind of screw themselves with black tables.
You see them sitting there and you get pissed cause you automatically think they are going to screw you.
The truth is, my two best tips ever were from black folks.
I was also ran more, and got tipped less more often by them then by white tables.
I just started realizing that I couldn't judge everyone by what a few had done.

I'd bet Australians are on that list too. That's because we don't tip here and the whole concept of tipping is confusing to us.
I'd suggest you move into a career where your income is not so uncertain....

The reason most Europeans don't tip, is because the tip is added in to there bill when they get it. It is in England and also in Germany and a few others country's.

maybe they didnt like your service . Thats not a racism issue though. Its doesnt matter what race you are , if you are ghetto like that. Only ghetto people screw people on tips . Its like " Hey pal , if you cant afford a tip DONT EAT OUT ! " . Dont pin it to certain races though .
