Today, it was a complete surprise to NBC of the overwhelming positive response they received to this morning's poll:
Do you believe in God?
NBC this morning had a poll on this question. They had the highest number of responses to any poll to date, and the percentage was as follows:
86% of Americans responded in favor to keep the words, "IN God We Trust" on the U.S. monetary currency, and "God" in the Pledge of Allegiance, and ONLY a mere 14% of Americans polled were against these issues.
That is a pretty 'commanding' public response.
Why should the majority 86% of Americans in favor have to abondon their stand and cater to the desires of the minority 14% of Americans, since majority rules?

Amen. Though this doesn't mean that more they believe in God, it means that they want to keep "In God We Trust."
Oh, and just incase anyone wants to get cute, internet polls can only be voted for by 1 IP. So technically, this is the entire population. It is called a controlled experiment. Get over it.
And if you actually read more than the title, you would have known that this was the "highest responce to any poll to date."
I will quote, just incase you are too lazy too look yourself.
"NBC this morning had a poll on this question. They had the highest number of responses to any poll to date, and the percentage was as follows..."
So yes, a reasonable conclusion would be that the majority of people believe in God or atleast agree with the phrase "In God We Trust."

A great poll, and surprised NBC, Obama's right arm revealed the poll results. I don't listen to NBC, but do weekly listen to ABC and CBS. CBS showed it support for OBAMA, when they got rid of Laura Logan for reporting on the Benghazi stories, in fact there not a word on Joe Biden's 43 year old son who was released as an officer from the Navy for drug abuse… the reason I don't follow main street news regularly...

We shouldn't as a majority have to cater to the minority. This country is based on Christian principles, by God-fearing English people. You can't undo that, it is undeniable FACT. And the only reason that the division of church and state was entered in was to prevent religious dictatorship. I'm studying history in college, and I know the backgrounds. Case in point was in Massachusetts Bay Colony and the Puritans, they had a government that was based on their religious beliefs. ALL people who held a political office had to manditorily be members of the clergy. This is what lead to the massacre that took place in the Salem Witch trials. The divison of church and state was to prevent a small group of people from becoming judge, jury, and executioner. This was not put in place because people did not want to acknowledge God in their society. Doubt me. Read a history book.

Well it might mean something if EVERYONE had respond to the poll. I'm sure that only a small percentage of the public answered it at all. So since it is not a true poll it doesn't matter.

86% want "In God We Trust" to stay on the money. That's what the poll was for. It doesn't mean that 86% believe in God.

God is a figure we created, like in every other religion. And I think it's stupid to make the pledge have "under god" in it. Then again, I also think it's stupid to fight about it. I don't believe in god, but I really don't care if they put god on things or not.
