virtual villagers 2: lost children - How do you get the cauldron?

Question

I have no idea how to get more food. The water is full of algae and the coconut trees are empty. What do I need to do?

to get the cauldron you need to buy exploration tech. then you drag any villager to the wood pile by the sea in the south of the game, he will pick the cauldron & put it by the fire pit.
you drag a villager to the fire pit & he will put the cauldron on the fire, you then collect herbs to make a stew, then water, & food to add to the stew.

to make more food you need to buy construction tech. & build a dam next to the patch of soil by the water falls, then yo will be able to harvest crops.

You need to have level 2 engeneering in tech points so that u can get the farm. Place a person over by the rocks that are near the shallow water then they will build a damn. Once the dam is complete it will take like a few minutes till the crops grow in. But then you need to make a scarecrow b/c the birds will eat the crops.

To get the scarecrow place a person near the vines behind the research hut and they will build a scarecrow that way.

BTW- The caldrourn will not give you extra food. It's only so that u can make a special stew to get a piece of the gong. Herbs are needed... i think it's 2 of the orange colored flower and 1 of the row of purple flowers to make that particular stew.

You have to level up on engineering and then the cauldron will be over by the hut that was already there when your villagers got there. You should also be able to find the cutting tools over by the thick thorn, you'll pick up the silver things and then you'll have to pick up flexible wood which can be found near where you found the silver things.

However, you need food to use the cauldron.

What I dont understand is after you get all of them things, what do you do to keep the birds away from your crops? I lost my first village because I didnt have any food left for them. The trees were empty, the water grimmy, and my crops eatten by birds. They lived for awhile off the shrooms I found, but them my kids got older and I had noone left to pick them.

So how do you get the birds to stop eatting the crops? I had my food maxed out, but I couldnt get anything else, because my people were either dead or dying fast. Anyone what to do from here?

you have to build the dam and plant crops to harvest.
The fish that eats algae is the last of the farming tech.
Watch out with the crops, there is a flock of birds that will come eat them before you can harvest them so you need to get the engineering up too!

Underneath the firewood there lays a black thing which I thought first to be an object for the children to take. I have level 2 on farming and took on of my farmers to dig it up... Actually you can take anyone. I think you also have to have level 2 exploration. Good luck!

You need to set them to building a dam where the rocks are in the stream from the waterfall. After that you can grow crops on the bare patch of soil.

to maintain your food,make sure dat u didnt buy farming at 2nd level which is count u 1500 tech points.drag ur farmer to fishing till ur food tank are full of food n enough for ur villagers to survive.maybe above 500.collect ur technology points until 25000 points so dat u may buy engineering point and science.dis will make sure u can protect ur crops once it grew frm naughty birds.buying 5000 pints for engineering allow u to build a dam so dat u can make crops to gain more food.then it is safe if you want to buy 2nd level farming dat allow u to harvest coconuts.till dis stage i guarantee ur builders may reach master@adept builders.and the thorny bushes can be start cleared by them.make sure ur small childrens x passed by the collection of butterflies,shells,etc cause it help ur technologies gain more points. to collect cauldron,u have to buy 10000 tech point for collection level, u will find it somewhere in the group of firewoods on below.For stew, i have few recipes 1)gain energy=collect 3 herbs from lily plant and below 2 herbs. 2)recover from cough&nausal=collect both 2 plants above right side and any one of herbs on below right.(i cant remember which one) the stew also can make ur villagers rush for nature calling.dun add more than 3 herbs in your ingredients.and wat more important dun add herb from different place cause one of the ingredient will make ur villagers sick. nway, anybody who can help me, my builders cannot open the craft even i gathered 3 master builders at the same time to open it,but still cant.help me.thanks.

to get the cauldron you need to have a master scientist and drag him on the place near the shore at the dry woods and place the character to the black shiny thing under the dry woods...its like oval shape and sometimes have shiny spots.
