I'm in the same boat as you. I've been brought up a huge Flyers fan. Me, my girlfriend, and father are very upset with this. The Flyers have had a rough season we all know, and us Philly fans aren't use to it because the last time they missed the Playoffs was 1994. Since the All Star Break, The Flyers' chemistry has been a hell of a lot better. They actually gave us hope. If they destroyed the Red Wings in the third period of Monday's game...they could do it to anybody. Peter Forsberg....he's suppost to be our Captain and he can't even stick around when times are tough. And he can careless about the fans because he's leaving one of the biggest hockey cities in the United States to go to Nashville, Ten. Nobody down there gives a damn about hockey, they should of gave the Predators to Winnipeg when they were an expansion team because Winnipeg has more loyal hockey fans. Despite that...he just wants to go to a cup-contending team so it makes his career look better than it already is. I hope he gets hurt in his first game in Nashville and decides to retire. Last Saturday was Peter Forsberg Mug Give-A-Way night, if I had one I'd pee in it.

No they don't. They have also given up on the season. The Flyers' management are spending more time thinking about 2007-08 than they are about the remainder of this season.

Phily will re-load and will be back into the playoff by 2008-09.

Nope...the Flyers and hope don't even belong in the same sentence. However, there is hope for the future and the Forsberg trade indicates that is the direction the Flyers are heading.

not this season, but trading forsberg was a good thing.
Flyers got a great deal actually.I doubt forsberg will even finish the season without going on IR again and philly recieved two players with a FIRST and THIRD draft pick this draft..
looks like youll have 2 first round picks 1 second round and 2 third round. dont forget flyers will get the first overall pick too.

The Flyers have no hope this year, thats why they traded Foresberg, they knew he was gonna be an UFA after this year so they decided to get as much as they could for him in order to build for the future.

Well, Scottie Upshall won't get you to the promised land. No hope this year, but a first and third round pick for Forsberg are a start....start planning for next year's draft. You guys will get the 1st pick overall. Maybe even become the next Penguins!

We have hope for a high draft pick, that's about it. Don't worry about Forsberg, he wasn't guaranteed for next year anyway. Plus he's older and injury prone, we need young talent, that's what wins, just look at the Pens.

Not after this trade... I guess they decided to build for the future, because they did get draft picks and two decent young players
