I am 16 and a half, i've been wondering for a while how can i get my permit?

it seems like so much work if you are under 18, sometimes it seems like it isnt worth it.

Can anyone tell me what EXACTLY do i need to do to get my permit?

step by step instructions would be nice.

also tell me how much the whole ordeal is going to cost me.

thank you very much

where im from, all you need is to be 16 years or older, and pass the written/computerized test. no driving test needed for the permit. but be sure to study the driving manual very carefully! the questions can be a bit tricky, and its gotten harder these past few years. they ask the amount of feet for various things, and that can kind of be hard to remember. such as - how many feet to leave between you, and a person on a bike when driving. or how many feet away can you park from a fire hydrant.

also if you are under 18 years of age, it's likely you'll need parental consent. the fee is the price of an id/permit, which is 18$ in my state.

good luck, be safe, and study your manual! i found it useful to write down the important stuff in a notebook to reference to easily. :)

Your being ridiculous! Every Teenager in the Country even Pre Teen, knows exactly what is required to get a permit!! They live for it! Who and where are you anyway?? Go with Mommie to the DMV that's The Department of Motor Vehicles and have Mom sign permission for you to drive with her or an Adult with a driving license, then take an eye test and whatever else the Department requires! Take it in school to start, like most 15 year olds.! You say it's not worth it, worth what? Just driving off by yourself with out any previous instruction, so you can kill people! That's very bright! We can hardly wait till we have to worry about you on the road.

Google the local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in your area. They will have a complete list of fees and requirements right there on their website. You will have to search for it because these rules differ everywhere.

it easily relies upon on the country or state. In British English, they are asserting "using licence". interior the US, we commonly say "motive force's license", however the 1st rate version in some states is "motive force license". purely look on the front of your license and spot what it says. this is the 1st rate version on your state.

We can't tell you anything because we don't know where you are, and you didn't tell us.
