I think when other nba players say they don't have a problem with gays as long as they don't come on to them, it's really just a euphemism, so hardaway was simply the only player who was honest. What he said was wrong and too over the top, but at least someone has the guts to stand up to the self-righteous pc crowd.

I consulted my husband about this. He is not a hater in any way, but he would HATE having to shower in the locker room with a gay guy. The thought of being nude around gay guys is NOT something the typical American 100% straight male would ever be comfortable with. The fact that they are that way is natural and does NOT mean they have hidden gay feelings, like the LGBT crowd would like you to think. If my man was not 100% man, we would have NEVER hooked up. This is the plain truth, and, while I didn't hear the interview, I'm sure the question was baited. Hardaway had to either put aside his real feelings and lie to be PC or answer the question truthfully and honestly. I'm guessing the hate part of it came out of anger for being put in that situation in the first place.

How would you feel in the same situation?

As Charles Barkley has said, at some point in his career, he's played with a guy teammate, whether he knows it or not, or wants to acknowledge it. His statements are ridiculous.

Plus, you look in an NBA locker room and see a bunch of guys primping in their $1000 suits, flashing their jewelry, staring at themselves in the mirror comparing physiques, and you're looking at a bunch of guys who fall into more gay stereotypes than the average gay person. Oh, he won't play with a gay teammate, but he'll be in a locker room with a bunch of guys acting like gay stereotypes? How dumb is that?

What has his self-admitted hate served him? He's been banned from the All-Star game and related events. He's ruined his chances at a post NBA career in the league or any of their affiliates. Ooh, he bucked the PC crowd. Hey, maybe other players really are being honest. And even if they weren't, that's still no excuse for Tim to present himself as a hate-filled person. He could have expressed his views without hatred.

You're right on. Here's a question - if David Stern felt it necessary to 'sanction' Tim Hardaway (i.e. ban him from All Star festivities) for saying something controversial, why aren't they doing the same to Amaechi? The last I checked, the concept of "tolerance" is supposed to go both ways. As you wrote, this is self-righteousness, pure and simple.

The PC-crowd believes that you can think and do and say whatever you like--but here's the catch--just as long as your views aren't different from the PC thought police. Boiled down, any concept of absolute truth is rejected OTHER than the absolute notion that there is no truth. It's the ultimate hypocrisy, and the NBA and just about every sportswriter I've read have long ago swallowed that stale cup of kool aid.

People...go back and look at history, we have been down this path before..whether it be race...religion...even from the smallest detail as the color of someone's eye's...people have always found a way to destroy each other! This country is the greatest country in the world because of a simple idea.......Equality....are we there yet , of corse not...but it continues to grow...Does Tim have balls because he was honest...I don't know?...But I do know It's easy to be scared and spread hate...anybody can do that...in fact he sounded more scared to me then anything..Have some courage Tim ,do the right thing learn from others and grow.....follow a simple idea that makes us great....it may be tough,.but only the strong survive
I don't agree with Tim or believe he is somewhat courageos for speaking his mind...But something good will come out of this ... Communication, sharing of information..learning and growing as person as a country as a planet. This is how we will grow to become better people. Hate/prejudice towards a human bieng/group is a disease that kills this process. And when your not growing as a person..well that means your dead. Theres good people and bad people that's it, anything else doesn't matter.
Without communication, sharing of information and growing we all would still be wondering how to start fire.Or we would be extinct.

Yes, he is entitled to his opinion, free speech etc.it's the first step of sharing information. From this hopefully we will learn and grow Taking a shower is a personal thing...I wouldn't want to be around any man, gay or straight while taking a shower..doesn't mean I hate them and wish they were dead.........this is not the point, the point is finding out why hate exists and trying to cure the desease...

There is a difference between being a self-righteous PC crowd and a biggot. You don't have to condone being gay to be polite. All he had to do was say, I would be uncomfortable around a gay teammate. He used the word "hate." Is Jesse or Al Sharpton going to go after him now, like they would have if someone would have said I hate black people? I bet not. If he were white and said I hate black people, he would have to move to another country and change his name. Hate is hate, no matter if you are talking about religion, skin color, or sexual orientation. I don't blame him, honestly I don't condone being homosexual, but I don't hate gay people. I just think they made a choice. It is their choice, I don't have to like it.

it rather is so irritating to circulate over. purely like whilst black human beings started out accomplishing new heights and started out getting black television and faculties and such. human beings started out complaining over that. So now whilst homosexual human beings attempt to get some type of civil rights human beings initiate flipping their lid over that. why is it which you human beings hate what you do no longer comprehend. popping out of the closet or development your self up in a society that hates you and spits on your face is a tremendous feat! you ought to on no account comprehend because of the fact niether are you somebody of colour or are you homosexual! despite if he did no longer pop out public somebody might have found out and mabye advised everybody. Mabye if human beings might provide up presuming that heterosexuality as a "normality" then you rather does not have such distinctive questions. If Tim Hardaway grew to become into purely attempting to declare that he disagreed with it then thats what he ought to have reported!! there's a exceptional line between hate and disagreemenr. His apologies additionally are pretend. he's purely attempting to shop face because of the fact he did no longer anticipate this type of adverse reaction. Any guy who's insecure along with his sexuality will sit down there and enable you comprehend that he does not want to share a locker room with a homosexual guy! except a homosexual guy is on your face telling you that he needs to have intercourse with then you thats once you ought to get offended. those insecure adult adult males are so smitten by utilizing the thought each physique homosexual adult adult males want to have intercourse with them. That inturn makes adult adult males like Tim Hardaway say ignorant issues and think of ignorant recommendations!
