who is the best metal singer of all time?

Amy Lee from Evanescence. you cant compare any guy singer to her. personally i like metallica or pantera but you have to admit that the best voice definatly goes to amy lee. she has a great voice no matter what she is singing.

Dear gods, some people here need reality checks... Ozzy might be one of the most famous or the most controversial singers, but he can't really sing!!
Listen to his tracks, he stays on 3 tones up two tones down, his voice projection is nonexistant and he more talks than sings. His technique is crappy, he squeezes his vocal chords and sings from the throat instead from the diaphragm.
Now if you want to hear somebody with a HUGE voice range - all from very high pitched screams to low growl and with a very expressive mid-range voice, check the iced earth ex singer, Matt Barlow.
Halford might scream, but he's useless at low to mid-ranged heights and his voice is totally emotionless when it comes to slower songs and ballads.
