As others have said, you can sue anyone for anything, but would you win or would you just be wasting money for attorneys/court fees?
If you live in the U.S...there are a few states that allow a person to sue their spouse’s lover for alienation of affection but it’s VERY FEW (about half a dozen). Most states have abolished these types of lawsuits.
Even if you live in a state that allows it, it involves much more than just proving that he had an affair with your wife. For example, you have to show that he caused the loss of your spouse’s affection (which is a different thing than that affection already being lost before he entered the picture). But that's going to be hard to do if you’re still with your spouse (not really clear, but seems like maybe you are?), because obviously (I hope) there is still affection between you.
You need to find a way to move past it.
And let me just add this—who’s really the guilty party? It was your wife who broke her commitment to you. Her ex-lover had no commitment to you. Put the blame where it belongs.

it is perfectly normal to want to see the man suffer for destroying your marriage, but anymore the courts don't seem to care who does what to whom, u just get a divorce and let it go at that. seeking revenge just keeps u hooked to that person, keeps u bitter, best to just move on, start a new life, and realize your better off. if u did get an attorney to take the case the other man would have to have a litltle money, to make it worth it to u, as u can't really get blood out of a turnip. most states did away with the alienation's of affections law along time ago. just seems to be a waste of time and energy.

Don't you think a better question would be...how can I heal from the pain of my marriage and get on with my life?
Ask a lawyer about the lawsuit...but you will probably be laughed out of court because everyone suffers emotional pain if they get out of a bad relationship.
Learn to heal and move on. A lawsuit is just revenge...and revenge is not healthy for anyone.

You're kidding me right?
Falling in love is like playing the stock market...it's a huge risk.
What break up hasn't resulted in someones emotional pain?
It's a given.
My advise: Cancel the *Pity Party* you seem to be having.
Change your avatars name to something less depressing like...gettin a new lease on life (instead of broken hearted)
and then realize that life is a game...get in the game.
Oh and seek solice in knowing you're not alone...anyone who's ever loved has suffered some emotional pain, it's the nature of the beast.

You can sue anyone for absolutely anything... all you need is enough money to pay an attorney to file a law suit.... Whether you will be awarded any damages is another subject... courts usually throw out frivolous law suits, this being one of them...

I think a judge would call you crazy and throw you out of the court room.
If a husband/wife won that case, the courts would be filled with people suing their wife/husbands ex-lovers.
Move on, and be happy :D

Generally not her ex-lover. He could theoretically sue his wife's adulterous lover for alienation of affection and loss of consignation.

you can sue for anything these days. you just need to find a lawyer willing to do it, a judge that won't laugh you out of the courtroom, and a lot of proof.
