I am a make-up artist and this is one of the main question.

The system of applying makeup for a natural look is fast and easy when you get the hang of it.

Steps:

1. Understand that a 'natural' look is one that uses colors that are right for your skin tone. How much you use, and where, depends on your personal style.

2. Make sure your concealer is yellow in tone since it mutes imperfections without adding color, giving your skin a natural look.

3. Apply foundation that matches your skin tone. The right foundation will seem to disappear on your face. If you are African-American, it's a good idea to have light, medium and dark shades of your foundation to allow for different gradations of color on different parts of your face.

4. Apply eye makeup in earthy tones'beige, brown, gold or plum for shadows and brown and charcoal gray for liner and mascara. Skip liner or shadow entirely if you want to keep makeup light.

5. Choose a blush color that is close to the color of your cheeks after you've exercised.

Tips:

Remember to clean and moisturize your face first.

Choose brighter or darker tones for a stronger, more made-up look.

Intensify your natural makeup for evening. Instead of brown, for example, go for charcoal around the eyes. 'Pop' blush with a brighter color over your usual one. Make lips brighter, darker or more shimmery.

I hope that helps.

Check out a local Clinique, mac or Origins and they can do a makeover on you (free of charge); They will match your skin color perfectly, so it's not too light/dark, just perfect for your skin tone and also give you tips on what you can wear for a natural look and how to apply, etc..

Blush: for your skin, I would recommend a light peach color.. it would be the most natural.

Eyeshadow: a gold or white color, any neutral (browns, pinks).. would look awesome with your eyes.. also a little eyeliner.

Another helpful hint is a Virtual Makeover. You can play with colors and find looks for you; Then it shows you how to apply your new look. Just click the link below.

(I found this from another user; it was pretty cool, and pretty accurate in the makeup indrustry).

i love orange, or brick shadow over your lids, light brown eyeliner just on the outer aspect of your eyes, dont draw straight across your lid, and then smudge it, creating some darkness and drama, then white or ivory highlights in the arch of your brow, blend well. I would also try light or dark pink shadow to brighten your eyes up but stay classy. youd be suprised by how natural light pink can look. clinique makes a good pink shadow.

Hmmm...
Natural look: I would suggest caramel, light golds, and soft greys for eyeshadow. For eyeliner and mascara, use small amounts of sable or black-brown. onto the lips- a teeny bit of nude lipgloss will do the trick.
Classy look-darker gray or black eyeshadow (easy on the black!!!) and black eyeliner and mascara. For your lips use a dark pink or a light red.

Natural: use sheer gold eyeshadows and cream colored lipgloss (it blends in with your lip color)

Classy: browns (darker at crease, lighter on lid) and a red tinted gloss.

Loreal Color Juice is great lip gloss for both looks.

you might be thinking to much about make up but all you really need is a good foundation. you really don't need to be putting all that other **** on you face if you want to look natural, a Good foundation will bring out the color of your eyes and make your teeth look whiter. trust me i have my makeup degree and my license in cosmetology and its what i use.
