how do you feel about the war? now that i watch the news more and more it breaks my heart so see so many people dieing overseas. i live in nyc 5 min away from the world trade center. and i have to say that day was the worst day in history and my life. to tell you the truth i lost a lot people and friends. i knew a lot people there like my hair dresser and etc.. well thats not the point the point is, so many people died and at first every thought it sounded right to go to middle east and catch that guy... but now i don't here any thing about trying to get that guy and i feel like there no war to be fought. i feel like our men our soilders are there for no reason. and even though i don't know any one over there i still mad about it..i feel like there so many things that America needs ( education, health insurance) and bush has not made any thing better. how do you feel about this war? do u think its pointless? please tell me your view on the war.

It may be pointless. I think it is but then again I don't know all of the details. I have not supported this war--even after 9/11. I didn't ever want to go in and actually cried when I saw the first bombs drop. I was a little less then patriotic then.
I've grown since then and realized that things happen. People make mistakes--including our president. I cannot find one solution to our problem other then seeing this through. I don't think it would be good for the US OR Iraq at this time.
I do hate the fact that we are at war. For goodness sake, my husband is over there right now, but I really don't see what else we can do.
I fully support anyone who has a effective plan to get us out of Iraq but I haven't seen one yet.

Not at all.
Something I found absolutely staggering is that despite the daily violence that goes on every day in Iraq, more Iraqis died every month under Saddam's regime than are dying now. It sounds like I'm making that up, but sadly, I'm not. The only difference was that instead of the deaths being caused by suicide bombings, they were caused by Iraqi soldiers dragging people from their homes in the dead of the night and burying them soon after in mass graves.
There's no one who is denying that the situation is Baghdad is simply awful. But if you're TRULY concerned about the Iraqis themselves, you'd want our troops to stay. If our troops left tommorrow the situation would be much much worse.
As far as "should we have gone", it doesn't matter any more. We're IN the war. It's not going away. We can either press to get control of the situation or leave the Iraqis to suffer a fate more terrible than anything they're sufferring now.
The primary reason we're still there is that the Iraqi government can't secure their own country. If we leave before they're ready to do it on their own, Iraq will become what Afghanistan was before 9/11 - a country ruled by thugs and terrorists. Top that off with unrestrained sectarian violence and Iranian influence, and you've got wide-spread disaster.
Every military and terrorism analyst I've ever heard says exactly the same thing. NO ONE with any knowledge of what's going on over there believes the situation will get better if we leave, and that includes the Iraqi government.

We need to win this war. If we just pull out and leave, that country would be a disaster and we would probably be forced to deal with Iraq later on down the road. We can win this war. The United States has been in much tougher wars and situations than we are in right now.

Cut and run seems to be the best strategy.....unless Bush and his team can come up with a plan for final victory.
We can't stay there for 10 years. If there is no plan for victory...then we need a exit strategy.
The war is NOT pointless....we removed Saddam...so, in a way, we already won.

My daughters class from high school loss 23 students in the world trade center. Her husband was on the phone when the first plane hit and listen to the tragedy.
Do you think feel bad for those in those mid east whose has caused this? Hell no!

Stop feeling so much and think about it, we are in the fight of our life, a different kind of war than we have ever had we cannot just give up and surrender, we are Americans.
