Do you think that in America being 5'9" is too short? please tell me?

Nah. I'm 5'8" and love it. No bed's too small. No airplane seat's too small. Don't need to worry about the shower faucet being too low. It's great.

The ONLY downer is when you like a chick who's taller. That's a drag.

too short for what? Basketball, most likely. construction, not at all. any size can be an advantage or a disadvantage depending on the task.
