by advertising one million companies on 1 web-page!!! Needless to say the ad was extremely small. But each company agreed and paid 1 dollar. Smart move/idea?? Or too much time on this person's hand??

The Million Dollar Website is true. The index page of the site consists of a 1000 x 1000 pixel grid (one million pixels), on which he sells image-based links for US $1 per pixel, in minimum ten by ten blocks. A person who buys one or more of these pixelblocks can design a tiny image which will be displayed on them, and also decide a URL which he or she wants them to link to, as well as a slogan displayed when hovering the cursor over the link. The aim of the site was to sell all of the pixels in the image, thus generating one million dollars of income for the creator, which seems to have been accomplished.

They paid a lot more then $1.00. Some companies paid as much as $50,000. The last ad space sold for approximately $100,000. He made the million in less then 3 months. The web-site was also high jacked for a ransom. He refused to pay. The high jackers put the web-site back up after a couple of days.

If they are really a reputable company they wouldn't have paid a dollar...get real....and also if the idiots that did pay a dollar fell for it, more power to the person who did it...would love to have something like that happen to me...but, I'm too honest...I would say they are not in the real world mentally, or people are really as stupid as you think...which I always try to think the best of everyone...but, look at it this way, if they made million, think of all the taxes they have...and also, if they did have the time to do it, they probably had to do a lot of research of company's to fall for it, so more power to them..if you have the time to do that, they probably are desperate...so more power to them..

I heard about a guy who had a Million Dollar page and sold advertising on it for a dollar a pixel!
I think it was a clever idea!

you'd have to prove it to me - contact a million companies, input a million companies info, bill a million companies and then get them all to pay......how many pixels does your screen have- could it resolve a million tiny names and they would be micro in size - its bs

it was brilliant i only wish i were as talented as this guy he did this ti try and raise money for college but the response was so overwhelming he was swamped with job offers because of his sucess and took a job with areally great company.good for him.
