Which role should be foremost - being a wife or being a mother?

As a family both are important. You have to balance the weight. If you put more weight on one side, forget it, better say goodbye to the family.

if i may, there is no role more important than being a mother. if you are a good one, then that's one of the best qualities a woman can have, if not the best. if your husband is a good man, then he should be very appreciative with his wife being a good mother. i always thought a good mother was a good wife. good luck to you.

A Mother. Once the children are 18 then it changes. We choose to have children and it is our responsibility to care for them 100% until they become of legal age. If the husband wants to always be first then he needs to marry a woman that doesn't want children and do what ever is necessary to insure there aren't any.

A mother.You chose to marry,the child did not choose to be born.When we decide to have children they should be our main concern.Both father and mother should put children first but usually the well being of children fall on the mothers shoulders.
