There should be a diagnostic code chart on the blower panel, but sounds like your ignitor (glow coil) has burned out, and needs replaced. Remember to clean your flame sensor too. It also can cause a "lock-out" condition, or erratic operation if dirty.

Measuring for ohms is gonna get you nowhere. You need to measure voltage. Take apart the connector that connects to the ignitor. Put your leads into the connector to see if you get voltage to the ignitor. Its either a 120v or a 24v ignitor. Im not sure with that particular furnace, probably 120v. If you never get any voltage than there is a different problem somewhere before the board calls for ignition. Check the pressure switch(s). Measure each side of the switch to ground to ensure the switch is closing and letting the voltage pass. Check all limits and roll-out switches. Just follow the voltage based on sequence of events. If you still cant figure it out after that you will have to call an HVAC tech. I appreciate a do it your selfer because I am one, but sometimes you need a professional. You also do not want to do anything that will void any warranty so be careful.

LED diagnostic codes from inside panel of freedom 80 furnace:
Flashing slow = Normal. No call for heat
Flashing fast = Normal. Call for heat
Continuous on = Replace control
Continuous off = Check power
2 flashes = External lockout (retries or recycles exceeded)
3 flashes = Pressure switch error
4 flashes = Open high limit device
5 flashes = Flame sensed when no flame should be present
6 flashes = 115 VAC power reversed polarity or poor grounding
7 flashes = Gas valve circuit error
8 flashes = Low flame sense signal
9 flashes = Check ignitor

If you don't have a way of seeing the meaning of the flashing light, go to American Standard's web site and look for the owners manual. It will tell you the problem.

Thermostat may be bad, or air in the line. Check power going to it. Is there a reset on it? Is it Oil or gas? If oil is ther water getting into it, gas may be air in line, or dirt plugging up offrencees
