Is it a high performance engine? If not, then take your car to the local dealer and have them check it out. If it is a Chevrolet, go to the Chevrolet dealer. Or whatever company.

It very well may be doing just that. If the motor mounts are worn or damaged the engine can shake around in the engine compartment. Unfortunately, with the general public wanting smoother cars, newer cars are fitted with very soft rubber mounts which have a tendency to wear out very quickly. A quick way to check them is to open the hood and have someone start your car and rev it while watching the motor itself. If it moves more than an inch or so, or clunks at all, your mounts are toast.

That wasn't a very detailed description of the problem. To a mechanic thats a starting point, but the biggest thing for them would be getting in there starting it up, shutting it off and hearing/seeing/feeling it for themselves. I would take it to a garage and have them diagnose the problem. Or give us a little more information to work off of. because "it feels like the engine is ripping out of my car." isn't that descriptive. If you give a little more information we may be able to help you better, other then that, its just a shot in the dark.

Hard to tell from the information you've given. Possibly a broken motor mount, or maybe shifting into a gear that isn't correct for the speed you're going? Good luck

i own a repair shop, and from what you have said about it id say it may have a broken engine mount or transmission mount in it,that will cause what is happening to it,you might want to have it checked, because if it is a bad mount,it will cause it wear other things out on it really fast, and may cause some severe driving conditions on it also, good luck,i hope this help,s.
