I would like to say that religion has nothing to do with the way I feel about those seeking political power, however, I feel that it is important that a politician be able to put aside their own religious beliefs for the greater good.

Because the issues I care about have a somewhat religious slant (abortion, religious freedom, NOT freedom from religion etc) it is somewhat important that they at least believe in God and are a moral person. Not particularly one religion over another though.

It matters to me, if they are so religious that it will impede on my ability to practice my religion. Otherwise I don't care what religion they are.

Yes. I want leaders who have strong moral convictions. I'm skeptical of the convictions of those who do not believe in God.
