nope because most those things actually sound like they are actually a productive use. Tax money should go to things that increase the economy.
Lets look at it this way you spend 100 million to put in a mall and some entertainment. This makes your city more attractive. You use some other incentive to bring in companies. Now these companies together do billions of dollars of business and you get a few hundred million in taxes from them that make up for that money, also let you improve schools and other things that are needed.
seems like a pretty good use of money to me. sound investment.
I get mad when i hear about them giving people who don't want to work welfare. Or when they say everyone deserves healthier whether they have money or not.
Why the crap should I work my butt off to get a house, clothes, food and good heath care yet pay taxes for other people to get this for free. That is communism and it is wrong.
Nothing in society is free if every time you make something a basic right you put a further burden on a smaller amount of people.
Try reading the kids book the little red hen.

While we all have different standards for what is "wasting" our money, I think there are definitely better uses for it. There are still so many people starving and truly in need. It is so easy to say that, but how often do we? I don't do it half as often as I should.

No. Those things MAKE us money. If we didn't spend on those we would be dirt poor and wouldn't have anything to spend on education, research, grants, etc. I really don't think you have any idea how an economy works.
