If its to far to commute you need to see if it is worth moving. If it is once in a lifetime position and your partener doesnt see this, you have the option to do what is right for you.

As far as I'm concerned, when it comes to giving up my career, there are no good excuses. My partner (like I'd ever seriously have one) can swing for all I care. I've got a life to live.

COMMUTE. Okay so I am being silly...there is no simple answer. I took a job my husband didn't want me to have due to location and type of work....I prayed about it, I talked with him about it....and eventually decided I had to try it. We had a one year agreement...if I stayed and stilled liked it after a year, we'd move. (PS we didn't move but it sure was a nice idea at the time....)

That would depend on if I love my partner or not. If I did I wouldn't go, if I really didn't I'd go. What's more important to you, your partner or your career? Should be an easy choice. I love my husband, so when his career moved him, I gave up mine.

compromise. move closer but not too close, but close enough that you aren't killing gas every day. this is what a relationship is all about, right?
