A wise woman once said.."if someone shows you something about themselves, believe it".

Passwords don't change by themselves. You personally have to log in, get into the account information and physically change it. Meaning to change it, you have to key in the existing password, then, key in a new password, usually twice to verify.
Why? Probably a few different reasons.
If you haven't use it for years and just used it, you probably wouldn't think to visit the "sent" folder, "draft" folder, "trash" folder. You simply got on, sent the email and logged off (without looking deeper) without assuming anything.
You should be assuming now! When the password finally returns to the existing one, or he tells you he "fixed it" himself, red flags should be frantically waiving. Log in and check everything above in the mail area. If your email is not there, he cleaned out everything incriminating to be safe, including your email. If your email is the only thing in the sent box and all other folders area empty, he did housecleaning while the password was "screwed up". If the inbox is empty, he emptied it on purpose. Just about every email address gets spammed, and there should be at least 20-50 junk emails remaining.
Start looking into the used browsers history, cache, cookies, hidden bookmarks (in the preferences section of the program) and start doing research. If everything is empty and he uses it frequently, he's deleting his tracks.
Sound like the unfaithfulness is back. Get a key logging s/w package and install it when he's not around. Stay off the computer for a couple of weeks and play it cool. After the two weeks, wait for him to go on business for a couple of days. When he does, log into the key logging s/w and see exactly what he has been up to online. Some s/w will give you screen shots every few minutes, log keyed in text (passwords, web addresses (memorized - not bookmarked), chat room conversations and a whole lot more.
It may be nothing, or it may be something. Based on your question and concern, I would personally be concerned. If you do the logging s/w idea, back up everything to a removable media (cd, dvd, zip, etc.) and safely store it where only you know where it is. People caught in a corner think that a computer that takes a mysterious nose drive off the desk when no one is around will bury the evidence. That's why you put it on removable media and hide it. When the computer dies, he would feel safe, until you send him a copy of the key logging transcript.
The silence says it all. Hope it's nothing but it sounds like something more.
Good luck

In my personal opinion, if he wanted to write someone else, he could create hundreds of email account using msn, google, yahoo, aol, etc. He could have simply done it without using your common email account. However, he might have given this joint or common account to someone and had been communicating so he had to change the password so you would not be able to see it.
Anyway, you can always retrieve the password by clicking at forgotten password and answering secret questions you set up at the time your opened your email account. If the secret question has been changed and you can not retrieve the password, you certainly should be aware with your hubby. Maybe he is cheating or trying to cheat again...here goes once cheater always cheater saying.
In the meantime, your account might have been hacked by someone else and this person changed the password. If that is the case, you should immediately report this matter to the email provider.
Good luck!

Passwords don't change themselves. If you know the personal info on the account you can make a new password and see what he is really up to, but first, Ask yourself, "if you really can continue being with someone you can't trust?" Only you know what you are willing to put up. Relationships are build on trust and when it's gone it is a hard thing to retrieve. If you really want to continue going forward in this relationship I suggest the two of you get some counseling that way you can air out your feelings and have the support of someone else there when you do. Best of luck to you. :)

This time.......you change the password. When it asks "forget your password?" ......click yes and change it. Hopefully you will know the answer to the "secret" question they always ask before changing it. Passwords don't change themselves. If you do get your password changed again....don't be surprised if what you suspect is true.......be sure you're ready to know the truth. Good luck to you hun...
