The troops have gotten between them & their quest for power.
They are mowing over the military to stay on the evening news.
As a mother of an Army Officer, I am ashamed of their lack of support for our troops. I have heard the stupid Murtha "we will make things better" story & I am afraid they are going to get my son killed making their statement. Leave the military out of politics as intended. They voted to send them either leave the President to do his job or rescind the authority to allow them to stay. Let the voters decide in 2008 & 2010. If Congress is not sure enough to bring the troops home then they are not sure enough to make a totally anti- military statement & play with funding.

Have you ever wondered why one man called Saddam could hold the whole Nation of Iraq together with his pistol and a few henchmen Yet the US and all its troops fail?
Perhaps they should have disarmed the damn public when they went in instead of leaving the armoury in piles on the side of the road for the insurgents to take back home. Crazy! absolutely Crazy!
The perhaps after deposing him set him back up on the understanding that he run a democratic government or be removed like so many other US puppet governments in the past.
Abandon Iraq now and let the sanduckers kill each other. The more they do the less problems in the world.Let em all become martyrs and go to their 17 virgins or whatever and hope they all get the pox!

Oddly enough, it has a very simple answer: politics. I've come to think of it as a sort of mental disease, with the first victim being one's morals and the second his sense of loyalty. Simply put, they can't see the strategic value in continuing to support the troops: they feel that they represent a majority of the American public because they have the support of many celebrities and such. Besides that, many of them have come to a strange conclusion: it is in the best interests of this country (read: me the politician, me the powerholder) to not support a military because said implies the use of aggression over another, which may hurt the other's feelings. To be perfectly honest, I'm not too concerned about whose feelings we hurt if we're protecting the country by doing it.

There is no one abandoning our troops
all Americans, I believe, are truly and strongly caring
about our service men and women aboard and wish
and pray for their safety and well being !!
The differences that exists in this country about what is going on
is about concepts and policies and strategies and methods --- and it is easy for either side of this debate to grab hold of the "caring about the troops" thing for their accusations about the opposition when ever they run out of dialog on any other level !!!
It has been of major interest to me for quite some time now---how in this country there seems to be a certain duality of concept that says ---- if you believe_______(insert concept here)-- then you MUST believe ________(whatever is most negative here)-----Example:
If you are against this country's foreign policies then you must be anti-American----------------------OR
If you are against the war in Iraq then you must be against our men and women in the military
It is also of interest to me that we have come to this concept that says---- you can only be a Good American if you believe like ME !!-----This all or nothing syndrome-----this total divisionist view that has us at WAR with ourselves !! And, when I think of this I am drawn back to the statements of GW BUSH as a candidate for the Presidency some short while back when he described himself as----- A uniter---not a divider !! How, interesting this is to see the outcome of his seven years in office at this point !! It is just truly sad that the unification he has brought has been to the enemies of this country---and the divisions are quite readily visable to the naked eye withinn the country between all peoples politically, socially. and economically !!!
Well, these guys are getting their reinforcements NOW--- sad thing is--- they'll need every one of them for the widening of the war that is coming very soon with the introduction of IRAN to the theater--- so the "reinforcements" will be needing a reinforcing before THAT war is even partially accomplished--- and it just goes on and on and on and on !! We are in for a long long long hard ride and somebody better be making SOME attempts to pull this domestic division together before long or it is destined to implode into radicallism as people at home begin to view each other as THE ENEMY !!!

They are not abandoing our troops.
Whoever told you that should not be believed.
Grandpa, a Vietnam Veteran, and Grandma say, it's time to bring our troops home now, and quit bringing our young Americans home in body bags.
Just like Vietnam, we had no noble business over there in the first place.

For some reason the Democrat left wants to see the defeat of our troops. They wish to gain power by seeing turmoil inside our country, turmoil politically and economically. They are truly traitorous to the cause of strengthening out country.

We aren't abandoning, we just don't want more troops to get killed for a war that doesn't need to be fought, for a war that doesn't really even exist anymore!
