When I search this question I get a pile of responses and so far; all have been "crummy". All I need is the free AVG anitvirus version. Can anyone help me please ....

With AVG you have probably the best anti-virus software available at present, but do not just get the AVG Free version, also get the trial version of AVG anti-spyware, its also free and will carry on working after the trial date is up, all you cannot do with it is set automatic updates and realtime protection, both can be downloaded from Download.com here :http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tg=dl-20&qt=avg%20free&tag=srch
