does anybody knows if the psp play .rar audio files?

open the .rar on your pc using a program like winrar http://www.win-rar.com/ free download for it here, and if you do have an actualy sound file you can extract it from the .rar and then be able to listen and if it is a format the psp can play( MP3, UMD-Music, MPEG-4 (.m4p, .aac extension), WAV (limited) and if wma playback is enabled it can play it as well)

.rar is not an audio files. .rar is an archive/compressed file format. Most likely, the audio files is inside. You need to get the tool (like winrar) to extract it.

no, only mp3's and AAC. sorry.
