For a date night in the future with my wife. She has a *slight* belly, but this top seems to be forgiving in front. What do you think? Is it too over the top or just right for a romantic date? I happen to think it's sexy, just looking for other opinions before I take the plunge.

I buy clothes online from Victoria's Secret frequently. I love the color of this top, but your wife will have to deal with the whole "bra issue". Does she typically wear tops without a bra? I know guys don't often think about this type of thing, but it can be a logistical nightmare for us gals. Given that this top is completely backless, a strapless bra won't work. So if your wife is nice and "perky" go for it. If she requires support, you might try something else so that she doesn't feel self-conscious wearing the gift. This one in the rosebloom color is nice:

It does seem a little forgiving in the front, but she has to have a great back! Its a nice thought, but there is nothing worse than buying something she might put on and feel worse about herself in! Search for a sexy top with an empire waist. If you don't know what that is, its a top fitted in the bust area, and looser everywhere else. Its very flattering, and easy to buy for someone else. I'm sure victorias secret carries some w emprire waists.

I like it but if your wife has a slight belly she probably won't. I love the color though. Depends hpw slight her belly is and if she has something in comparison that she has worn before. Thats a hard call. I would maybe get a shirt that shows off the top part and has a poofy waist I think its called empire waist.

Does you wife have any other tops similar to this that she wears? If not, I don't think that I would buy it because it does have a lot of the back out. You mentioned that she has a "slight" belly but if is not confined to just her belly (i.e "slight" love handles), she may be uncomfortable.

Pretty top- I love it. If she has rolls around her stomach- her back might look heavy as well- its cut pretty low on the back at the sides. If she has a small pooch on the lower portion of her stomach it should be ok- the band at the bottom might even smooth the pooch. Hope this helps- you're a sweet man.

LOVE IT OMG!!!! Linking my fiance now so he can get it for me! :-) She will die. It's adorable and just sexy enough not to be crazy. Just don't buy it if she's erm particularly well endowed in the chest area - she won't want to go out without a bra, and there's nothing but (possibly) tape underneath a shirt like this.
